7th and 8th Grade Teacher - Mrs.  Diana Taylor

Extra! Extra! Extra! Read all about it. The 7th and 8th grade class is in the process of creating a new monthly school newspaper. They have named it the Concordia Lutheran Bugle, and the first edition will be out on or about October 1st. The students are responsible for all of the writing and editing of the newspaper. There will be interviews, news articles, sports reports, and birthdays of the month, prayer requests, jokes, and a Bible passage. Look for it soon.

The students have also chosen a book to read. They were given a choice between three books and had to choose one of them. The books were The Call of the Wild, Treasure Island, and The Island of the Blue Dolphins. The students are taking part in small group discussions, and then they must report to the rest of the class on what has happened in the book.

Geography class has been busy learning latitude and longitude so they could play the game "Stump Mr. Taylor". The students had to give Mr. Taylor the latitude and longitude degrees, and then he had to tell them the country in which it was located. Of course, Mr. Taylor was doing it without a book or a map. So far, the score is:

Mr. Taylor - 7 Students – 3. The students, however, are sure they will find more latitude and longitude degrees that will stump him. We'll see.

In His Service,

Diana Taylor
