Youth Group
Thanks to all who purchased Butter Braids and Cookie Dough! The funds are helping to cover costs of this summer’s National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. We have another fundraising opportunity in conjunction with Lutheran High School’s freshman class. We will be taking orders for chicken dinners to be picked up on April 23rd. Our proceeds will go to our Youth Group. If you don’t care to get a dinner but would still like to make a contribution – that option is also available. The dinners may be picked up either at Lutheran High or at Concordia. Orders need to be turned in by April 16th. Forms are available in this newsletter, on the narthex table or from a Youth Group member.
Ladies Aid
The regular monthly Ladies Aid meeting will be held on April 29th at 1 pm.
***************
LWML will meet again on April 15th at 6:30 pm. At roll call we will play fact of fiction where you reveal something about yourself and we need to guess whether it is fact or fiction. After devotions we plan to participate in a service project. (We will be cleaning the nursery or polishing wood in the sanctuary- please bring cleaning supplies with you) Ladies – please plan to join us and bring a friend.
Vacation Bible School will be held the week of June 6th! We just ordered our books and will inevitably have more expenses coming. So far, just for learning materials, our expenses are $250. If you would like to donate and help us have another great VBS, please designate your donation for VBS on the memo line. Also, we will soon be looking for volunteers and for all of our great kids to sign up and join us. So write down the dates and plan on attending another great year of VBS.
The Office
Anyone who may be interested, we now have the ability to do direct deposit transfers. We advertised at the beginning of the school year that if it would be of any help to you, we can set up your tuition payments to be directly transferred from your account to save you the time of writing out those pesky checks. In addition, we can now also do direct transfers for Church contributions as well. If anyone is interested call the church office. It is very easy to set up. All we need is the date you would like funds to transfer, the dollar amount you wish to transfer and a copy of a check or a voided check. You can stop the transfers just as easily, if it turns out that this program is not working for you. If you are interested in this or have any questions, please call the office.
Remember anytime Concordia can be of any assistance to you or your family, please come in or call and speak with one of us.
Thank you, Sharon and Lora

I Remember?
- Due to an unpleasant experience in a local public school in 1975, I enrolled both of my sons in Concordia Lutheran School. The oldest, Bill, had just started 5th grade and Michael had just entered kindergarten. Tom Eggold was the principal, and after a lengthy discussion, he admitted both boys and took them around the school, introducing them to teachers and students. Tom’s kindness and actions made it much easier on both boys to begin adjusting to a different school, as well as to a different way of life. (submitted by JoAnn C.)

Lutheran High will soon be celebrating 30 years
I remember when the Concordia church members voted on being a part of the Lutheran High association. It was a very happy day for incoming students. The old Immanuel School was the place we were going to rent for one dollar a year. It needed a lot of work. It was so neat to see parents and students come to help get the building ready. There were a lot of extra volunteers and friends that helped too. It was an awesome sight to see. We had a great faculty to help get the school started and so many volunteers along the way to help keep it going.

A reminder that the Foundation for Excellence at Lutheran High School accepts vehicles in any condition as donations. Camp Cilca’s new summer program
is now online at www.cilca.org. Registration for all camp sessions has already begun. Camp is most certainly a memory that you will want your children to have.
A big thank you has been received from Faith Comes By Hearing for our gifts toward funding the listening programs for Malagasy. It is difficult to believe there are still people who have never heard the name of Jesus because it has not been translated into their language yet. However, this translation reaches these people and allows them to hear the Word of God in their language. Another thank you came for the gift we sent toward funding the audio Bibles for the military. Those soldiers can easily listen to the Word of God when they have a private moment. Thank you.
