PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING: Our theme “Growing in Christ Through Worship” immediately brings to mind the idea of worship in church. That is certainly very important, but family devotions and personal devotions are also part of that growing process. John states it in the form of a command. “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me.” John 5:39 We need to read the Bible regularly, not just in church. There is not a better way to accomplish this than through devotions.
God bless you all as we continue to teach His children together.

THANK YOU: Thanks to the P.T.L. for the Welcome Back to School Roller Skating party on September 8. We are a school “family,” and these types of events allow us time to visit and become aquainted with each other. Thanks P.T.L.!
CHARGER SCHEDULE: The Charger is sent home the first and third Fridays of each month. If you have any information you would like written as an article in The Charger, it is most helpful if you would have the articles to Pam Billotte by the Friday before it is sent home. If you have a complete page you would like included with The Charger, it can be submitted as late as Monday of the week The Charger is issued.
MID-QUARTER REPORTS: The first mid-quarter ends on September 23, with reports going home on Wednesday, September 28. Check the bookbags on the 28th!
NO SCHOOL: There will be no school on September 29-30 so our teachers can attend the combined Central Illinois and Southern Illinois Teachers Conference.
LIBRARY NEWS: We are off to a new start for our school year. Mrs. W. will keep us informed of any new policies or changes that may take place. We certainly appreciate Mrs.
W’s assistance in providing the library experience for our children. Please help your child remember to return the library books the week they are due. This teaches the child responsibility and, at the same time, provides the best book selection possible each week.
FALL ACTIVITY: Our annual fall activity this year will be on Friday morning, October 7. The theme this year is Wellness. The children will be divided into groups (children from each grade level from preschool through 8th grade) to organize and participate in 9 different activities centered around childhood forms of wellness and safety. We are grateful to the nine different presenters who have volunteered to come and have a sectional topic. The children will have the opportunity to learn about how the various organs in their bodies work, dental health, about healthy snacks, hand washing, fire safety, bicycle safety, first aid, and safety in the neighborhood. Our fall activities are designed to give the children an opportunity at the beginning of the school year to become aquainted with students in the different grade levels. It is our goal to create an atmosphere where friendships and bonds develop and last throughout the school year.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:
THE HOLY ALPHABET...
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain,
Continue in thanksgiving.
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard.
Fierce winds are bound to blow.
God is forever able.
Hold on to what you know.
Imagine life without His love.
Joy would cease to be.
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee.
Move out of “camp Complaining”.
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone.
Quit looking at the future.
Redeem the time at hand.
Start every day with worship.
To “thank” is a command.
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky,
We’ll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high.
Yes, there’ll be good times and yes some will be bad, but…
Zion waits sin glory...where none are ever sad!
