Principally Speaking:

With all the talk of the flu especially the H1N1 virus, it can certainly cause concern. Do we need to get a flu shot? Do we need to get both flu shots? It seems that right now, there are more questions than answers.

There are a number of things parents can do to help their children. Make sure that your children get plenty of sleep, eat healthy and drink enough water. This will help your children fight off the flu when it comes and also help your children do well in school. Also, remember that if your child is running a temperature, they should not attend school and should not return to school until they have not had a fever for 24 hours.

We really don’t have to panic because God has promised to take care of His children, and He has given their bodies every effective means to fight disease.

" I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well." -Psalm 139:14

 -Dan Henschen

NOTE: The next "Charger" will be sent home with our students November 6th. If you would like to post something in our newsletter, articles need to be in by the Wednesday before they go home to allow time for them to be typed and printed. For more information, please call Lora at 529-3307.

October Chapel Offerings

This month Chapel Offerings will be sent to Ronald McDonald House in Springfield. We will be sending them Christian materials for the families that they are helping and general items they are needing as well.

*Reminder, everyone is invited to attend chapel at 8:45 am on Wednesdays with our children. The schedule for chapel leaders in the next few weeks is:

November 4 - Pastor Hennig November 11 - Mr. Henschen

November 18 - Pastor Koschmann November 24 - ???

FYI: I want to send out a big THANK YOU to Diana Taylor for all of the time she has spent helping me while Sharon has been out for surgery. I also want to thank everyone else who has helped do things for me in the office this whole year. It has been a year since I started and everyone has made me feel so welcome. Thank you, Lora

Making your tuition payments: When paying cash for your tuition payments remember, if the office is open, it is the best place to take your payment. In the office, we can get you a receipt and make sure that your money gets locked up in there. For preschool, Vonda Wiegand can get you a receipt as well. If she is not in her room, you can bring it to the office, but make sure that we know it is for preschool, so that it doesn’t get mixed up with the K-8 payments.

Parent -Teacher Conferences: There is now a sign-up sheet in the office. The dates are: November 5th and 6th. There are a couple of teachers not making appointments on the 6th however, due to the sports schedule. Feel free to call the office or stop in and set a time. If you have more than one teacher to visit, we will try to schedule them as close together as possible.

Picture day is November 3rd: Please see enclosed materials.

Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

PTL NEWS

Thank you to everyone who helped with and attended the fall festival. Together we raised $450 in tickets and $1600 in the silent auction.

We are in need of volunteers to help with the concession stand and the admissions table and one person to run the clock for the Nov 6-7 volleyball tournament. You can volunteer in 2 hour increments. We especially need the help on Friday, since most of our parents work during the day. We will also be accepting baked goods to sell in the concession stand. They can be brought in as early as Nov. 5th and left on the concession stand counter. Thank you in advance for volunteering.
