PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING: For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of god, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 As we continue to "Grow in Grace and Knowledge", we again this week are reminded of why we want to know more about Jesus and His love. Sharon Bergt died last Sunday. She has substituted many times over the years at Concordia and even taught kindergarten for a couple of months to cover for an extended leave of absence. We will miss her, but we know that we will see her again in Heaven. Let us all continue to grow in grace and knowledge.

God bless you all as we look forward to Thanksgiving and remember to thank our Lord for all His gifts.

Dan Henschen

BASKETBALL JAMBOREE/PTL CHILI SUPPER: Don’t forget the jamboree and chili supper tonight! Come and enjoy fun, fellowship, good food, and enjoyable varsity girls and boys basketball at Concordia. The jamboree begins at 5:00, as does the Chili Supper. With the chili supper will be our Chili Cook-Off. The judging will be from 6:00-6:30. Cook-Off chili will be available to eat as well as the "House Chili". Come one...come all!

BIBLE BOWL: Thanks to all who participated in the Bible Bowl. It is always fun to explore God’s Word. We thank Grade 5- Ashley V., Katy S., Tori H., Grade 6- Amanda W. Grace A., Breanne S.; Grade 7- Josh O., Steven S., Cody C., and Grade 8- Bryan C., Ben S., Daniel F., Kasie M. for representing our school. We also thank Lutheran High for sponsoring these opportunities.

THANKSGIVING: Thanksgiving Vacation begins at 1:00 on Wednesday, November 26. School resumes on Monday, December 1, at 8:30 AM.

END OF MID-QUARTER: The end of the mid-quarter is Friday, December 5. Reports will be sent home on Wednesday, December 10.

LOVE SHOP: The dates for this year’s Love Shop are Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5. The ladies of our congregation make and gather items all year long to provide our children with a Christmas shopping opportunity. Prices are kept very reasonable to allow children to shop for multiple family members if they desire. This becomes their chance to do a little independent shopping. The first day of shopping the children are limited to the number of items they can purchase. On the second shopping day they may buy as much as they can afford. The rules will be the same as last year, there will be no lay-a-ways, no charges, and the children can only spend the amount of money they have brought with them. Also there will be no adult shopping prior to the children shopping. The remainder will be available for the adults to purchase on Sunday, December 7th, between services. We will be sending gift tags home with the children to fill out a few days prior to the 4th. This is a good time to begin helping the children make out their shopping lists. The children cannot buy for themselves. The items are to be purchased as gifts.

LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL NEWS: "Arsenic and Old Lace," a comedy about an eccentric and charming family who populate their cellar with the remains of socially acceptable roomers, will be presented November 21 & 22. Some of the cast include Jenny M., Rebba O., Matt F., Adam B., Jacki S., and Sam M..

Freshman placement test dates are:
