Principally Speaking:

Concordia Lutheran School would like to wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving and thank all of you for the opportunity to teach your children. We also want to thank everyone in both our Church and our School families for the blessing which is our school and the opportunity to provide a Christ-centered place for our wonderful students to learn.

We wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

-The Concordia Lutheran School Staff

NOTE: The next "Charger" will be sent home with our students November 20th. If you would like to post something in our newsletter, articles need to be in by the Wednesday before they go home to allow time for them to be typed and printed. For more information, please call Lora at 529-3307.

November Chapel Offerings

This month Chapel Offerings will be sent to a missionary family who is sharing the Gospel in a Muslim country

*Reminder, everyone is invited to attend chapel at 8:45 am on Wednesdays with our children. The schedule for chapel leaders in the next few weeks is:

November 24 - ??? December 02 - Dan Henschen

Picture Re-take day is December 4th: If you need a form, contact the office.

NOTE: Your child is to be kept at home if they are running a temperature, or you are waiting for doctor’s results on a strep infection. For the protection of the rest of the students, parents will be notified to pick up their child if they are sick or displaying a fever. A Child should be free of a fever for 24 hours before returning to school.

ALSO: School personnel do not dispense any medication without prior written consent. If your child is in need of medication during school hours, you must fill out the medication form detailing the type, amount and nature of the medication. You will also need to supply any necessary utensil (Spoons, droppers, etc.) No medication will be allowed without your note, the doctor’s signature or prescription and the proper medication container.

Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. (No Santa items please.) Donated items may be left on the table in the overflow. Please attach a note saying that it is for the Love Shop.

Weekly Writing Corner: As seen in Wednesday editions of the SJR.

Topic: Describe your hair or the hair you would like to have. (11-04-09)

My hair is soft and curly on the top. My hair is darker blonde.

My hair gets lighter in the summer and darker in the winter. I like my hair just the way it is!

-Logan (6th grade)

I want my hair to be green with pink and blue highlights.

I want it to reach my feet and be very straight. I want it to be glittery too!

-Kaitlyn (5th grade)

My hair can sometimes be really really curly. I wish it could be short and not curly.

I wish my hair could be black because it would look much cooler that way!

-Dylan (6th grade)

I would like my hair to be cut into a small Mohawk.

I would also like some designs on the side too.

-Stephawn (5th grade)

Topic: My Hero. (11-11-09)

My heroes are my friends. They are there for me when I am happy. They are there for me when I am sad. They are there for me when I had to get 10 stitches in my foot. My friends are awesome!

-Kaitlyn (5th grade)

My mom is my hero because she is always there for me. When I get hurt or need help with my homework she is there.  She is so great! I love her so much.

Topic: Gravity. (11-18-09)

I like gravity because I can play kickball, swim, play basketball, karate and all of the fun things that I like to do. I don’t like gravity because I can not fly or can’t jump vey high!

-Logan (6th grade)

I like gravity because it makes us stay! If we didn’t have gravity we would float away!  Gravity is good it keeps our neighborhoods down. Without gravity there would be no town.

-Dylan (6th grade)

I like to jump ramps and test gravity. If there wasn’t any gravity, I would never have to worry about getting hurt. I could do a lot more cool tricks. I could be the coolest kid in town if there was no gravity!

-Robby (5th grade)

What I don’t like about gravity is that you have to stay on the ground.  Sometimes it is nice to be on the ground, but whenever you throw a ball or hit it, it will always come back down! It is amazing how God made gravity!

-Gary (6th grade)

I like gravity because your food won’t fly all over. I don’t like gravity because when you jump you can’t stay in mid-air. It would be cool if you could do that or do cartwheels in the air!

-Alyssa (5th grade)
