Principally Speaking:

The first quarter is over, and it seems like we are busy all the time. Basketball season is just getting started; and volleyball, cross country and football are just finishing up. I would like to thank all the coaches especially Matt and Heather S. and Valerie R. for taking care of volleyball; and Ed Taylor for coaching cross county. Thanks also to Steve V. for helping me coach football.

We could really use your help. Concordia Lutheran School and especially the preschool has room for more students. The best way to get new students is by word of mouth, that being parents talking to other parents. As an incentive to our parents, Concordia offers a voucher of $50 for part day preschoolers and $100 for all day preschool or day school students. The details of the program are on page 22 of the parent & student handbook. Thanks in advance for helping us.

God bless you all as we work together to teach His children,

-Dan Henschen

NOTE: The next "Charger" will be sent home with our students November 20th. If you would like to post something in our newsletter, articles need to be in by the Wednesday before they go home to allow time for them to be typed and printed. For more information, please call Lora at 529-3307.

November Chapel Offerings

This month Chapel Offerings will be sent to a missionary family who is sharing the Gospel in a Muslim country.

*Reminder, everyone is invited to attend chapel at 8:45 am on Wednesdays with our children. The schedule for chapel leaders in the next few weeks is:

November 11 - Mr. Henschen November 18 - Pastor Koschmann

November 24 - ??? December 02 - Dan Henschen

Picture Re-take day is December 4th: If you need a form, contact the office.

NOTE: Your child is to be kept at home if they are running a temperature, or you are waiting for doctor’s results on a strep infection. For the protection of the rest of the students, parents will be notified to pick up their child if they are sick or displaying a fever. A Child should be free of a fever for 24 hours before returning to school.

ALSO: School personnel do not dispense any medication without prior written consent. If your child is in need of medication during school hours, you must fill out the medication form detailing the type, amount and nature of the medication. You will also need to supply any necessary utensil (Spoons, droppers, etc.) No medication will be allowed without your note, the doctor’s signature or prescription and the proper medication container.

Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

Love Shop

The Love Shop is fast approaching. The Love Shop is set up for the school children to be able to shop inexpensively for their friends and families. They always get really excited about buying their gifts for their loved ones and having it be a secret. Now is the time to start making or buying inexpensive items for the sale. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. (No Santa items please.) Donated items may be left on the table in the overflow. Please attach a note saying that it is for the Love Shop.

Please bring any and all donations by Monday, Nov. 23,2009.

Thank you, The Ladies Aide

PTL NEWS

Thank you to everyone who helped with and attended the fall festival. Together we raised $450 in tickets and $1600 in the silent auction.

We are in need of volunteers to help with the concession stand and the admissions table and one person to run the clock for the Nov 6-7 volleyball tournament. You can volunteer in 2 hour increments. We especially need the help on Friday, since most of our parents work during the day. We will also be accepting baked goods to sell in the concession stand. They can be brought in as early as Nov. 5th and left on the concession stand counter. Thank you in advance for volunteering.

Everyone is invited November 20th for the basketball jamboree and chili cook-off. The jamboree starts at 5:00pm and the chili will be available starting at 4:30pm. Chili, drinks, and desserts will be available for a free will offering. If you want to enter your chili, bring your crock-pot to the basement by 4:00pm. Prizes will be awarded. We are also looking for volunteers for this event. We need you for the concessions stand, admissions table and clean up for the chili cook-off. The school kids have also been asked to bring:

Preschool Ketchup, mustard, pickle relish and desserts

Kindergarten grated cheese (for chili) and desserts

1-2 grade gallons of tea or lemonade and desserts
