PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING: The school year is coming to a close, but we are busily looking at
next year. One thing that would help us greatly for next year is to increase enrollment
for both preschools, as well as the day school. Most importantly, this would give us the
opportunity to teach more children about Jesus, but it would also reduce the cost of
teaching each child. By reducing cost we are not forced to increase fees as much, and it
would take some of the financial responsibility off the congregation.
Concordia has instituted a new policy that hopefully will help our
current families financially as well as increase our enrollment. This policy will be in
effect until June 22, at which time it may be modified, discontinued, or expanded.
Heres how it works. We will offer to any Preschool or Day School parents/guardians a
voucher if they bring into the school a new family. If the child entering the school is in
the part day preschool program, the voucher will be for $50. If the child will be in the
all day preschool or day school, the voucher will be for $100. There will be a limit of 2
vouchers for each new family. For example, if Family A brings us a new family of 4
children, Family A will receive 2 vouchers only. Family A can, however, recruit additional
families and receive additional vouchers for each family with the limit of 2 for the same
family. The vouchers are non-transferable to other families.
Also the new family must have their child enrolled and attending for
three months before vouchers will be awarded. The new family must designate during the
initial interview or subsequent interview with the secretary, teacher, or principal which
family told them about the school so the voucher can be awarded properly.
The following types will be considered exceptions and not included in
the voucher program:
A family who has a parent or guardian that is a member of Concordia who has always wanted
to send their child to the preschool or day school.
A family who has other children already attending the preschool or day school.
A family who has a child that has graduated from the preschool and is enrolling in the day
school.
As we continue to prepare for next school year, help us find more
students who can also grow in grace and knowledge. Jesus said, Let the
little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For the kingdom of heaven belongs to
such as these. Matthew 19:14
