March 20, 2009
It seems like the long cold winter is slowly giving way to warmer weather and a chance to spend more time outside. What a great chance to watch nature come alive again. Maybe that is why in the northern hemisphere, we get to celebrate Easter in Spring, where coming alive reminds us of the resurrection.
With daylight lasting longer into the evening, make sure your children still have time for homework and plenty of rest. School is your child’s occupation right now, help them to learn the responsibility.
God bless you all as we seek to teach His children together.
-Dan Henschen

Thank you for your patience while we were working on the doors. We believe that the trouble with the doorbells has been fixed!

Arrival Procedure from the Handbook: Children should be left off in the gym parking lot. Children may enter the school through the door by the gym, and from 8:15am students may also enter through the lower school door. Children should not enter through the door by the offices unless accompanied by a guardian or the child has business with the office. All children arriving at school prior to 8:15am need to go to before school care. No children are allowed to wait by the front doors unaccompanied by an adult. Children may wait in the cars with their parents or stand outside the door with an adult, but they cannot wait by themselves. Children arriving prior to 8:00am will pay the regular amount for extended care.
You need to continue to be aware of oncoming traffic and the school children who may be in your path. Also, during the school day, if picking up a student early or dropping a student off late, the student needs to come through the office and sign in or out. When doing this in front of the school, remember not to impede the parking for our staff. Our staff come and go from the front parking lot and need to be able to do that in a safe manner also.
Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

A BIG THANK YOU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
On visitor’s day, during Lutheran School’s week, we served 204 people! The menu was chicken, pulled pork, or peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with chips, veggie tray, applesauce and cookies. That is a lot of food to get ready for that many people! That is why I want to thank our many volunteers who worked to make this lunch a huge success. We especially want to thank: Angela
G., Sue E., Frank N., Linda S., Jeannine & Vic M., Dorothy D., Betty T., Clara
S., Bob & Nancy C., Paul B., Marla D., all of the teachers and Mr. Henschen. We also want to thank the 7th & 8th graders, who put up the tables and chairs, and the 1st & 2nd graders who wrote the table prayers. The PTL also chipped in on those great big cookies. It took many people to make it happen, so thanks again and God bless!
Thank you too for coming to eat with us! -Patty Henschen
