Principally Speaking:

National Lutheran Schools Week (NLSW) is here and it is time to celebrate. A big part of the celebration needs to be a genuine expression of thankfulness. It is easy to see all the negatives in the world, but God has also given us many wonderful gifts. Concordia Lutheran School is one of them, and with this very good gift there needs to be gratefulness. Thank you to Concordia Lutheran Church for having the wisdom to establish a school and preschool; and for having the commitment to continue Christian education for our young people. I thank the students, their parents, the staff, the volunteers and all those who pray for our school. Have a great NLSW and I especially want to thank God for continuing to be with us, so the Good News of a Savior can be taught to our children.

Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15)

-Dan Henschen

NOTE: The next "Charger" will be sent home with our students March 19. If you would like to post something in our newsletter, articles need to be in by the Wednesday before they go home to allow time for them to be typed and printed. For more information, please call Lora at 529-3307.

March Chapel Offerings

This month Chapel Offerings will go to Camp CILCA.

*Reminder, everyone is invited to attend chapel at 8:45 am on Wednesdays with our children. The schedule for chapel leaders in the next few weeks is:

March 12 - Pastor Hennig March 17 - Dan Henschen

March 24 - March 31 -

Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. (Ex. 20:8) All families that have children enrolled at Concordia are expected to attend Church services, Sunday School and Bible Class not less that twice per month. The Board of Christian Day School considers this opportunity to study God’s Word very important. Our life can be much more meaningful when God’s Word is understood and practiced. Faith needs to be fed in order for it to grow. There are now more opportunities for you to worship with the Lent season.

Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

Weekly Writing Corner: As seen in Wednesday editions of the SJR.

Topic: Olympic Spirit (02-24-10)

I think that we have the "Spirit of the Olympics" because they take place only every 4 years and it has become a tradition.

-Dylan (6th grade)

My interpretation of the "Spirit of the Olympics" is the feeling it gives people in the Olympics and the people who are watching the Olympics. The people watching the Olympics might feel eager and excited. The people who are in the Olympics most likely get a nervous feeling.

-Kaitlyn (5th grade)

I think the "Spirit of the Olympics" is like when you train for the Olympics for a long time.

It can also be about when the people who are watching cheer for everybody.

Or maybe it is about being a good competitor and congratulating the other team if they win.

-Logan 6th grade)

Topic: What is your favorite color and what does it mean to you? (03-03-10)

My favorite color is teal. I like teal because it reminds me of the ocean.

-Tyler (5th grade)

My favorite color is blue because it is the color of my eyes and the color of the sky that God made.

-Meah (5th grade)

My favorite color is blue. I like blue because it reminds me of my favorite place to go on vacation. I like to go to the ocean and the beach.

-Katie (5th grade)
