PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING: As we celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week next week, we are reminded how important Christian education is for our children and how blessed we are because we have a Lutheran school. “...and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15 This is just another way God gives us the opportunity to “Grow in Grace and Knowledge.”
Basketball season is just about finished for this school year. Thanks to all the coaches, parents, spectators, and players for a great season.
God bless all of you as we look forward to warmer weather and more opportunities to teach His Children.                                 Dan Henschen

NATIONAL LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK: Next week is National Lutheran Schools Week. Attached is a list of the events and schedules for next week. Be sure to note the various dress up days and special activities. We have National Lutheran Schools week for the purpose of thanking God for the gift of Christian education. We thank Him for the opportunity to carry out His will of providing Christ-centered educational experiences that will train a child in the ways that please our Lord and equip our children.

LENTEN WORHIP: Our Lenten services continue each Wednesday evening at 7:00. A meal is available before the services (5:30) to make it easier to attend church without first having to prepare a meal. Come and join us for fellowship during the meal and worship at 7:00.

NEW FAMILY REGISTRATION: On Monday, March 1, registration becomes open to everyone on a first come, first served basis. We would be pleased to have your 3 or 4 year old, or your relative’s, neighbor’s, or friend’s child be a part of our Christian fun and learning. Registration forms are in the church office and outside the Preschool classroom. If you would like more information or would like to arrange a visit, please call Patricia Steffen, 529-3309 (school) or 529-1897 (home).

CONFIRMATION TRIP: Our confirmands will leave on their annual Confirmation Trip on Friday, March 19, and return Saturday, March 20.

MUSIC CONTEST: The Music Contest will again be held at Lutheran High School in conjunction with their Brunch on March 14. We have several students participating in the music contest. Come out and enjoy the delicious food and the musical talents of the children in our area Lutheran schools.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

A Letter

This was written by an 83-year-old woman to her friend. The last line says it all.

Dear Bertha,

I’m reading more and dusting less. I’m sitting in the yard and admiring the view without fussing about the weeds in the garden. I”m spending more time with my family and friends and less time working.
Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savor, not to endure. I’m trying to recognize these moments now and cherish them. I’m not “saving” anything; we use our good china and crystal for every special event - such a losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, or the first Amaryllis blossom. I wear my good blazer to the market. My theory is if I look prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries. I’m not saving my good perfume for special parties, but wearing it for clerks in the hardware store and tellers at the bank.
“Someday” and “one of these days” are losing their grip on my vocabulary. If it’s worth seeing or hearing or doing, I want to see and hear and do it now.

As we live our lives each day, recalling these lady’s wise words can also make the daily activities retain their focus and meaning. May we never lose sight of the meaning in each minute of time that God gives each of us. May we strive to use our time to His honor and glory in all we do.
