Principally Speaking:

I love to watch the History Channel when it really is portraying some part of history, especially some of the wars or seeing what some early explorers had to endure. History is really intriguing and can easily lead to the question: What is the most important event in history? That could probably spark quite a debate among historians, but I think God settled that some 2000 years ago. If Christ had not died on the cross and had not risen three days later, all the rest of history would have been meaningless.

"And if Christ has not been raised up, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins."

1 Corinthians 15: 17

This Good Friday and Easter let us all take the time and remember that His death and resurrection is a real part of history. We also need to make it real for our children.

HAPPY EASTER

-Dan Henschen

NOTE: The next "Charger" will be sent home with our students April 16. If you would like to post something in our newsletter, articles need to be in by the Wednesday before they go home to allow time for them to be typed and printed. For more information, please call Lora at 529-3307.

April Chapel Offerings

This month Chapel Offerings will go to Lutheran High School.

*Reminder, everyone is invited to attend chapel at 8:45 am on Wednesdays with our children. The schedule for chapel leaders in the next few weeks is:

April 14 - Pastor Hennig April 21 - Dan Henschen

April 28 - Camp Cilca May 5 - Pastor Koschmann

Tardy Policy: After 3 tardies in one quarter, a child’s guardian will receive a warning notice or phone call. Upon receiving the 4th tardy, the child will stay after school on the next Thursday from 3:30-4:00 doing a grade appropriate writing activity in silence in the classroom assigned for tardy duty. A child will serve a tardy detention for each successive tardy after the 4th until the end of the quarter. At 4:00 the child will be delivered to extended care where the child may be picked up for the day. Extended care fees will be charged for all children serving the tardy detention. At the end of each quarter the number of tardies previously accumulated will be erased, and the student will start over. Do not forget, if your child is getting to school late, they need to go through the office and get a clip for their teacher.

Anytime you have a question please do not hesitate to call the office. -Thank you, Sharon & Lora

Vacation Bible School will be held the week of June 6th! We just ordered our books and will inevitably have more expenses coming. So far, just for learning materials, our expenses are $250. If you would like to donate and help us have another great VBS, please designate your donation for VBS on the memo line of your check. Also, we will soon be looking for volunteers and for all of our great kids to sign up and join us. So write down the dates and plan on attending another great year of VBS.

Topic: Spring Poetry (03-24-10)

Spring is here!

Lets all sound a cheer.

Take off your mittens.

Take off your coat.

Go out and feed your billy goats!

-Hunter (5th grade)

Spring time is very fun!

Pretty cool runnin’ in the sun!

‘Round in my community,

It is very pretty!

Now running from lawn to lawn,

Going from noon till dawn!

Topic: Easter Bunny Spotted! (03-31-10)

I saw the Easter Bunny at Radio shack.

He was talking to his cousin the Energizer Bunny.

The Easter Bunny was asking him to take a shift on Easter.

-Samuel (6th grade)

Breaking News!

The Easter Bunny was spotted.

He was hopping down Bunny Lane headed toward Springfield.

He was laying eggs behind him for all the kids to find.
